Last saturday I was very excited because I'm going home to see my loved ones. So for two days, I was very busy packing my clothes, stuff toys, shoes, bags and other gifts for my family as presents for them. I was so excited I tend to forget how long my flight was. I was leaving Saudi Arabia at midnight last night and flew through Kuwait Hongkong and arrive in Manila at 2 pm today. I am very lucky to have my friend Inang who helped me packed my things because I'm sure I will forget something. It's been a while that I haven't seen my family for three years that I was away to work in Saudi Arabia. I am sure there's going to be a tear in my eyes when I arrive in Davao because my dear mom and my ate Nene will meet me at the airport. I am glad I'm back home now.

What are you focusing on today? Are you focusing on your difficult situation, or on God's promises? You may have all kinds of problems coming at you. Maybe you're feeling discouraged as new problems and challenges have popped up in your life. Don't let it get you down. Don't let it take your focus off of God. He is working on your behalf in the supernatural, even when you can't see it. Keep your trust and your focus on His promises, not on your problems.

It's important that you keep your heart in an attitude of faith. Believe that God is for you. Believe His plans for you have not changed despite new problems or troubling circumstances. The more you focus on what God's doing, the more your faith will grow.

If it feels like you're facing impossible challenges, don't be afraid. God is on your side–nothing is impossible for Him. Stay focused on what God can do in your life. Remember, He's always in control. God knows the end from the beginning and He allows challenges in your life to cause you to trust Him more. As you put your faith in Him, you'll grow closer to God and you'll see your dreams come true!

Its location is at the heart of the downtown Davao makes it accessible to everything. At the top of the Apo View Hotel, you will see a wonderful view of the people's park, the davao gulf and majestic mount apo, standing more than ten thousand feet high. My Friend's Birthday

One of my friends who is celebrating her birthday today. Happy Birthday Jong! My colleagues at work helped her cook pancit and bake a cake for her birthday since the celebrant is busy at work. She has helped me while I've been working here, she is my mentor. I will miss her because her contract will be finish by may. It's very hard working here but she helped me all these years that were together. I'd like to be the first person to say a very happy birthday my dear Jong. And I wish you a safe trip back home take care and God bless always. Good luck to whatever endeavor that you would partake, I hope to be part of it again. Returning To God Who Loves US

Every year we celebrate easter in remembrance of the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, a celebration of victory over death, hell and the grave. It's a time for all christians to rejoice, a time to honor everything God's plan of salvation provides through the crucifixion and resurrction of Jesus.

By God's design, the resurrection of Jesus provides us with the blessing of reconciliation to the One who created us. The One who longs to fellowship with us. The One for whom we will always yearn. So easter is a time to celebrate the spirit of reconciliation. And it involves our own personal experiences, pride and selfishness and receiving the resurrection life of Jesus in our heart.

This is what the death and resurrection of Jesus means for us. Although we may wander away from The safety of our loving FATHER'S arms, he longs and waits for us to return to be reconciled to him so he can celebrate our death and resurrection to new life in Christ with us.

So this year as we plan to clbrate ur easter season,cnsider celebrating a rlationshp wid christ,perhaps ur own or that of a loved one.Gods arm s not shortened that he cnnot reach out and meet ur evry need,nor his ear deafened 2 d cry of ur hart.

Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new. God has done it all! He sent Christ to make peace between himself and us, and he has given us the work of making peace between himself and others.(2 corinthians 5:17_19)

Thankful Thursday

I'm so grateful today because it's maundy thursday and it's my day off. This is my time to do valuable things in my hostel. It is the observance of the lenten season for christian people. It is the time for reflection on Christ's passion death and resurrection. He died for us to save our sins. It is also a time for fasting and passover. Shopping Day

I'd like to tell you the great time I had today because it was my day off. A few of my friends meet up and went shopping. And you know what girls like most of all and that looking around the shops. We all had a great time spending our hard earned money. It's very hot here so we went to coffee shop munching apple pie and drinking cold softdrinks because we are tired the thirsty. Then I manage to phone my family back home in the philippines and chat to my sister using my mobile wishing they all could be here because I miss them so much. I wish i could have a day off everyday I had so much fun.

My Nokia N96

I've been longing to have a versatile mobile, now I have it. For several months of saving money just to have my ever dream mobile. I purchased this Nokia N96 at Rashed Mall here in Saudi Arabia. I used this phone when chatting over the internet to my sister in the philippines. It is very convenient, I could talk or chat to my loved ones wherever I go even at work in the hospital.

The things that amazed me about this phone was its functionality and features. It is very user friendly, the functions are easy to understand and easy for me. More than just a phone, the online features are great and quick accessibility. It has 3G, wifi connection ready, has bluetooth device and it is more than MP3 Player, it's a full multi-media device. I've got my favorite christian songs loaded on it and listen to them whenever and wherever I go.

Other specifications includes 5MP Carl Zeiss camera with flash, it has A-GPS and nokia maps, with TV and stereo speakers, can stores up to 12,000 songs, it comes with an N-Gage game, 30days of voice-guided navigation and BBC videos and easy to upload photos and videos to share on Ovi. I was so impressed and was lucky owning this wonderful gadget.

Overseas Phone Calls

During weekdays, I'd call my family in the philippines. I do miss my family so I gave them a call. I spoke to my mother, they were all happy and so with my siblings. I could tell they were so happy to hear my voice as me too was very happy to hear them. Weekdays is my time to call and chat over the internet with web cam to them because this is my day off at work. I feel bad for not being with them but this is part of my job and I am committed to my work here. I hope to go home after my contract finishes this year. I can't wait to see them and I am excited it's a few more months to go and my contract will end soon. Happy weekdays.

It's weekend again but unlike most places our working week normally starts on sunday. I started my work at 7a.m. to 3 p.m. As my day starts I can say we are very busy in the hospital. I work with the amount of patients coming in. We've been told there's sandstorm outside so we're expecting a lot more of patients coming in. I do enjoyed my job here but after a long day I got very tired. Happy weekend everyone.

My Birthday Celebration

Tuesday, 3rd of February was my birthday!!! My apologies for the late posting, I just have my blog recently. I always look forward to my special day. It's a day to celebrate God's gift of life. My family in the philippines were the first to greet me on my special day. I got warm voice call, text messages and emails from them and friends back home.

I just celebrated my birthday simply at the hostel. My friends at work helped me cook the food. They voluntered what dishes and desserts they would cook. I just provided money on what to buy for food menu. The food was delicious all- filipino dishes like kalderetang kambing, (goat) beefstakes, sotanghon mixed with bam-i, (for long life they say) sauteed shrimps, pork and chicken adobo and lechon manok. For desserts, we had spaghetti, chocolate cake, macaroni salad, leche flan, fresh fruit salad, maja blanca and cassava cake. The drinks were cold and refreshing.

After dinner, we spent the rest of the night with videoke singing, dancing, laughing and talking.
My friends gifted me with a shirt, scented candles, victoria's secret pear glace body mist, and a cute stuff toy.

I had a fantastic birthday. It was a simple celebration yet it was nice to all of my friends and colleagues at work enjoying the party. To my friends and family, thank you so much for making my birthday wonderful. I hope to return the favor on your birthday as well.

My Uniform

This is our uniform in almana general hospital in saudi arabia. As you can say, we look like a nun. We as female nurses, treat and serve female patients only. We are not allowed to mix with male patients because that is the culture here.

Abaya

As you can see in this picture, we are wearing abaya. This is an islamic dress worn in arabian peninsula and united arab emirates. The law in saudi arabia required every women to wear abaya when going out the city. Women here are required to cover themselves in public and that is abaya. You would be apprehended by policeman if you don't follow their culture. After all it is their national dress so you don't have to blame them.

Working Nurse In A Private Hospital

I am working in Almana General Hospital assigned as female medical ward. This is our hospital in Saudi Arabia. My hospital experiences in Davao City really helped a lot especially in duty related exposures. I think I didn't have a hard time coping with the new and hospital scenario here in Saudi Arabia because of my skill foundation. For two and a half years now, I can say that I am blessed to be given this chance to serve and opportunity to earn.

Leaving Home to Saudi

When I left home to work abroad as a nurse in saudi arabia, I was beginning a new life. A life that involves the adjustment to new culture and a new environment. The language was a barrier to me, but I was able to learn it eventually. In fact I am very fluent now with their arabic language.

At first I was not able to adapt their culture, at home in the philippines, I used to eat pork, beef, chicken and seafoods. My mama would cook my favorite meat dishes like beefstake, goat kaldereta, pork asado, pork or chicken adobo and sauteed shrimps in butter. It was a big adjustment when I arrived in saudi arabia. After a few months I was able to try new things, was able to experiment new food, style and daily rituals.
